Just got these back from the machinist. He is a Rover, TVR, MG, Jag specialist that does a lot of race motor work. Very good machinist.

Each head was completely disassembled, all parts checked for wear and tolerances checked. Valves were ground, valve seats received a 3 angle grind, valve stem seals were replaced, and mating surface decked.

I paid $225 for the machine shop service plus the cost of the valve stem seals.

What is the red and blue stuff on the valve seats?

Those are some clean looking heads.

 

Machinist marks exhaust and intake with different colors. He said the angles are different (or something, I can't remember) so he does this to keep things clear while he is working.
