For the LR3 crowd, the UK site disco3.co.uk is regularly visited by some very smart folks.

This forum has been a huge help to me. Use it all the time. Never been on any of the other forums.

ExPo. Not LR specific like Pirate but has a lot of sub categories. Some good camping equipment in the classifieds too.
DWeb was the first one I joined, around 2001 or 2, but with a different ID, which I now can't remember.
'94/early '95. I can't remember when I joined the other 10 or 12 I'm on, but it was at randoms times.

ExPo is as LR specific as Pirate. i.e., there's one section, out of many, that is about Land Rovers.
It's not strictly all wheel drive vehicles though.
Or did you mean "Like Pirate, it's not LR specific"? In which case, my bad.

Prior to DWeb it was just the LRO, UKLRO and RRO mailing lists for me, which I joined in late
Before that, after I bought my first Land Rover in '75 or so, I'd just chase down other Land Rovers when I saw them and wave them over. LOL
I had a list of about 40 Rover owners around the DC/VA/MD/WV area.

This place is very helpful and I really like the people on here. Not nearly as much trolling as I run into on my diving forums. People are very helpful and quick to give their opinion, and I like that. I generally divide my time between this site and ExPo. ExPo is more of an all around sort of deal, so it appeals to the overlander in me, but I like the sense of community I feel with Land Rover people. You don't get that with a lot of other vehicle owners. Someone described it perfectly when they said:

"Sensible men drive Toyotas. Passionate men drive Land Rovers."
