Sounds right. I had a conversation with Vance over at Q&E a few months back and IIRC he said LA Sleeve continues to make their top hats with the groove for the o-ring, they just stopped shipping them with their orders unless you ask. I'll bet your machinist can request that LA send the o-rings with the liners when your engine work is done. You need to coat the o-rings and liners with silicone grease during the install to stop things from binding and twisting.

Cheapest insurance I can possibly imagine.

Update

Got the block and heads back from the shop today. Total bill: $1950 (+ $500 for the sleeves)

Valve job: $300
Surface heads .005": $100
Set stem/seat: $30
Sleeve Bore: $600
Bore + Hone Cylinder: $320
Surface Block: $150
Tank Block: $75
Install Cam bearings: $45
R&R Oil Galley Plugs: $35
Polish Crank: $45
Clean Pistons: $80

Work done by AutoSport in Seattle. From what I can tell, their work is top notch and am very pleased.

I will be able to get started on the rebuild next week as I'm travelling for work until then. Hopefully I can find some time to get back up to speed on how the heck I am going to put this thing back together.

Sorry for being 5 pages and a couple months deep on this thread already and the rebuild hasn't even started yet It will start to get more exciting...

I love looking at perfect clean and freshly milled engine parts, it makes me believe that everything is going to be OK.
