I was going to buy a box of $25 miscellaneous fuses for my "just in case" toolbox. But I decided not to get it.
I went to a junk yard this past weekend, found an old Disco 2 with the complete engine fuse box still attached, removed the whole fuse box and paid $15 for the whole lot.
Now I have plenty of extra fuses and relays for dirt cheap.

Day started with disassembling new/used 04 motor, replaced headgaskets (waste of time...they'd just been done), installed valley pan and manifold, dropped engine in, connected trans, torque convertor, replaced motor mounts, installed rocker arm covers, fill with oil and turned it over until the battery went dead. Long, but productive day.

After recently getting a full tank of bad gas at a Chevron station in Oregon I started experiencing misfires on 6 and 1. Took it to a shop thinking coil pack, he threw it on his computer and said probably not. He suggested a tune up at a fairly high price and I drove off.
This morning I pulled spark plug 6 and found it completely fouled, wish I had taken a picture! I've never seen one so bad. Not one clean surface on the platinum 4, just black gunk! I cleaned it all up and reinstalled it... and to no amazement the misfire on six is gone!!
The mechanic said he saw real time misfires on 5 in addition to one and six, which apparently aren't enough to throw a code. I can feel them while driving now though.
I attempted to remove number one but could not get the end of the ratchet straight over the plug due to the SAI pipe entering the head between 1 and 3.
What type of swiveling socket attachment tool do you guys use to get that plug out? It looks easier to buy the right tool than to remove the SAI pipe.
Also I noticed while removing the ignition wire on 6 that the bottom of the boot had gotten hot and brittle due to the heat from the nearby exhaust manifold. When I touched that boot I noticed cracks where it bends, on the bottom. It seems to be working and no misfires yet, are cracks on the boot as bad as cracks on the actual wire casing? Is this common? They are STI cables and the actual wires look good.
Fire in the hole, started her up this morning for a short bit, started after one revolution and ran smooth. Then put some of the assessories on. Yes, I forgot to attach/run the intake heater line from the reservoir...so, the belt and compressor have to come back off, so I can tuck that in place. Other than that...everything else has went along as planned. Not to aweful, considering it's been a part for months now.
Tomorrow, I will bend some tubing that runs between reservior and top of radiator. Make up some temporay plugs for the SAI...hook up the rest of the hoses and fill...and then run it for a bit and change filter/oil again.
Then, who knows...it may get the hood put back on.
The nice thing about gutting all the plastic trim and headliner is it opens a world of possibilities to mount things. I don't know what I want to mount yet, but I installed about 34 rivet nuts into the factory drilled holes. Probably going to add a few eyelet bolts and a cargo net or two
