I'm sure the sideways wheels weren't helping. Unfortunately I think I damaged some of the internals on my PS pump as I now have intermittent power steering. Need to do some research on that.

Default Went for a ride out back...looking for mud.

We'd gotten some rain today, first in months...so l went in search of the good stuff...mud. Use to walk through here easily...ten years ago. Now, dogwood has taken over the field.

Was trying to find the old path that lead through here...not to be.

Warning for the ladies...yes, those are my sexy legs in the mirror...so, please contain yourselves...lol.

No mud to be found, but had fun anyway.

Brian.

Thanks Brian and No Doubt.

It was my first ever real offroading if you can believe it. That rocky slope there had a hornets nest in the middle I didn't think I could make it, but the alternative was backtracking 15 miles (2-3 hours) so I spent a good 40 minutes trying to get over. Too many tall vertical rocks in all the wrong places. Hauled some stones in to even out the area bit (while avoiding getting stung) and finally popped over (but not without a good ding on the diff guard, radius arm, and sliders.

I guess the only mod that can make things like this easier is a CDL and bigger tires? I feel like a 3" lift and 32" tires, while pretty good, still don't give you a whole lot of options for doing med-to-high difficulty trails. Clearance was my biggest issue. Radius arms are dinged pretty good, both diff guards, and a dent in the rear cross-member. Sliders are surprisingly unharmed. traction control is better than I thought it would be - I actually like to spin a little bit, so i know where I'm at. I'm sure CDL is miles better though.

Same thing happened to me. Turns out the seal for the pump halves failed allowing fluid out and air in

All the mods you've done and no CDL? INCONCEIVABLE! (Cue The Princess Bride.)

The good thing is, if he ever gets seriously stuck, he'll be able to apply for a permanent address and live out his days in comfort right there on the trail.
