You must have a body lift and/or spring spacers then?

Woke up this morning with an urge to remove all the carpet. Mulled it over a bit during the day... and decided yeah, it’s got to go.

Pulled the middle today
rear tomorrow
and will leave the front in for now.

going full utility

none of the middle or rear carpet is visible anyway. Sure it’ll get a little noisier but I’m looking forward to that

My welder got the carrier done today

Seems to tick all the boxes! Happy with the result. The front runner drop down table I bought is simply not going to fit unless I either deleted the wiper or had the arm stick out further, neither of which I wanted to do. Plus, I really don't need a fancy table like that just to hold my stove, so I'll get a sheet of aluminum and make a simple table instead.

Thanks. As far as looks go, "good" was pretty much all I was going for. It doesn't look factory professional, but thats cool, it ties in with my whole "DIY" look to my truck. I love that I'm using an old wheel hub for the mount haha

I just saw this reply.

That's good info. I end up towing a LOT so I guess I'll probably end up with the 4.56s. Gotta get that axle breaking torque transfer.

Also, Jeff, I like the mount. The wheel hub is a nice touch. Those tapered roller bearings should last a LONG time in that capacity, and cheap/easy to replace if you ever need to.

Thanks, yeah, tapered roller bearings seem like overkill in this application, but hey, they'll work. The transfer case uses a lot of them.

Next up I'll grind off the rust, and paint it.

In the works... fold down table:

Idea is pretty simple, just an aluminum sheet with angle for the frame. Piano hinge, wire rope for support, and draw latches to lock it closed.
