What's wrong with my RTE lift?

Ahhh I always wondered why they included both. Cheers.
And I found out today I have to redo my wheel bearing job on the front left, as the oil seal is leaking. Poor diffs, they're both crying now
In other news, installed the front Terrafirma shocks today. The ride is GREAT. Left the RTE coils in. Easy peasy job when you aren't change springs, all I did was jack the frame a few inches up, and swap the shocks. No need to do anything in RAVE like removing the wheels, etc.

Quick question on the pinion seal, I've read that it could be a clogged breather being the culprit. Now mine isn't clogged, but since I run the breather all the way to the engine bay, and then up into the snorkel, it takes a hefty blow to push air that far. Could this be the problem? I probably bunged the seal install anyway, so I'll replace it, but am wondering if maybe the restricted breather is causing premature failure of the seal.
Timeline:
April 2017 deleted rotoflex, installed britpart seal
August 2017 extended breather
Sometime in the past few months - leaking diff.

Could a blocked vent tube cause a seal leak, yes. I had it happen only once on a '92 RRC with a 100% blocked tube. The seal that leaked was the axle seal and not the pinion. This is not likely the cause of your pinion seal failure. And I would think you would see a leak at the hub if the tube was totally blocked.
And extending the vent tube, providing there are NO kinks in the line won't be an issue. It's just a vent/breather to atmosphere.
Most important is the air flow in the tube is unobstructed from the axle to wherever you want to terminate it.
I think you are going to find just by using the proper Corteco Pinion Seal and mud shield installed correctly will be the cure.

Alright I replaced it. I found some sand-like bits of metal in the oil seal lip. Internals/flange looked all good to me. I'm pretty sure the mudshield caused the seal failure - the shield was spinning loosely on the flange. The new mudshield I fitted required some hard hammer hits to get on.
Also threw on a propshaft spacer to give a little more spline contact for the shaft. My tom woods shaft is sized correctly to my lift (I think), but it looked like it could use a little more.
Crossing fingers for no leaks
