I personally have not lost a Heli to my Dog or Cat, but I've seen plenty of them. Little Bits and Pieces of $300-$3000 goodies all over the place... It's really sad to see.

I've gone for the Micro Drone 2 with the cam to start with. The problem is it's 'bite' size for a dog and even the cat

If I get used to it and like it I'll probably move up a bit in size and type.

That size looks interesting to me too, and the price is right. I'm guessing after you get used to it, the maneuverability would be great.

The benefit of the AR Drone is that it is capable of carrying a payload. People mount Go-PRO video cameras to it and they get AWESOME video from them. Of course, that's an additional $300 on top of the AR Drone, and the Android or Apple device to control it. Now you are in for around $1000 total!!! Ouch!!! But, it IS nice video. Personally, I would NOT trust his mount to hold my $300 camera, but that one could be made stronger.

PS: The Jello Affect is due to Vibration. They do make Anti-Vibration mounts that get rid of that.

Fantastic vid quality SS, nice area as well similar to around me in France. I think you are still a boy at heart with expensive tastes in 'toys' - bit like me, but I can't really afford them now I'm retired got to watch the pennies more than 5 years ago. I defo like the AR Drone but it's a bit expensive and outside my league at present but it does have the bonus of multiple attachments. You never know we might win the Lotto and then it's serious playtime. Might even move to the US and take in some of the big country there. Looks great for outside pastimes which we are into.

That one is supposed to fly awesome, but keep in mind that the camera is not included in that one. It has the Gimbal mount, but you still need to buy the GoPro or iLook.

I've got to say SS, the more I look into to these drones the more there is to learn about them. It's almost a 'magnetic' attraction as a pastime. The MD2 arrived today at long last. You wouldn't believe how tiny it is but I need to put it together and then make time to start using it. Unfortunately the D2 horns and SLS problems overtook me today but will make time later this week. Luckily the cat has a new hobby, 'wall watching' the old barn for lizards, literally all day long, so she's fully occupied with that game now and the drone will be safer.

That's pretty cool! I've watched videos of guys using those goggles to fly 5+ miles away. That would be a LOT of fun to try.

Here is one of the videos I was watching. If you have time, it's fun to see:

And another fun one (I believe it's illegal to fly that close to cars though):
