I neglected to check the sway bar while I had a wheel off. I will check those bushings next. Something is definitely worn. The popping noises are easy to produce at will. Sharp turns at low speed. I occasionally get a slight steering wheel wobble.

 

Curious, how did you use your Defender over those 100k miles? % on road and off. I’m wondering what might have caused the suspension component wear you are sharing.

 

I bought this one with around 80k on the clock. No idea how the previous owner used it. But it was owned in Florida, so I doubt it did any real off roading. Control arms are a known wear item on modern LR products. I had a D5 with 40k that needed them replaced. It seems l405 owners replace them about every 40-50k miles. I will report back once I find the issue. Or just trade it in for a moto van.
