Like most replies have stated, it really boils down to personal preferences. Most Defenders that are sold in the US rarely venture off roads with the exception of the posters on this forum who are avid off road enthusiasts. The 110 has the advantage if you do venture off road versus the 130 for sure. But if space is your first priority, by all means go with the 130.

I was worried the 130 would handle differently, accelerate slower and be too unwieldy compared to my 2020 Tasman 110 I used to own. Have to say, I am pleasantly surprised by the overall driving dynamics. The rear overhang isn't too too bad and looks more in line with the NAS Defender 110 of the early '90s proportionately. I will say that the roof rack and the ladder do break up acres of glass and reduces the "School bus effect" a great deal. 110 looks stubby to my eye now although I still love the overall looks of it as well. Pretty certain my off-roading will be contained to Colorado Mountain passes and some light trails in New Mexico this summer. No desire to go mud bogging in the woods here in Missouri. Have a great weekend all of you knowledgeable and passionate folks!

Proportions on the 130 look like a hearse or the Ghostbuster mobile.
Found your old post here while debating with myself obsessively over 110 vs 130. I have 18 years being used to the volume and length of an lr3.

A- tailgate to center console:
LR3 77"
110 71"
130 85"

B aesthetics - not even a debate - 110 proportions are essentially perfect whereas the 130 rear hangs out kind of goofy looking and I can only imagine the ledge drop "slam" onto the hitch.

C 2nd moon roof is nice actually from a sleep-inside point of view but also you gain ceiling storage net height which is something my lr3 3rd row window has been extensively used for holding soft items like jackets and gtx gear within easy reach.

D city parking a 130 would be even more annoying with a bike rack.

I like the look of the 130, but prefer the 110. And, my family is all adults now so it’s me and girlfriend and occasionally my 90lbs standard poodle, for which I just fold the rear seats down. He fits in the back, but why confine him there when he can have the whole rear to himself and a bit of gear.

If my 2 daughters were still young, I most likely would have gotten a 130. When I had the Disco2, they always wanted to be in the rear side folding seats. There’s something with kids and the 6th and 7th seats 😁

And days and days of off-road in the San Juan mountains in CO climbing to 11k ft elevation where departure angle has never been an issue. Coalbank, Engineer Pass, Corkscrew, etc. Heck, we did Black Bear for several years in a Hummer H2 but it wasn’t open last year; am hoping we can do it this year in the 130. I get wanting the 110 if you are doing technical rock-climbing but that’s not us.
You're going to mention "cat rides up front" and not share a photo ??!!!

But of course Im biased. I love my 130.

I wonder if people who had an LR3 for a long time feel more often just fine with the proportions of the 130 because the LR# has much more overhang than the 110 and we kind of get used to it and also know it's "form follows function" for all that incredible cargo and seating space. The 110 is a little tight for those of us who bring everything on trips LOL
