Apparently, Ford is backed into a corner. They have to wrap up '21 production by the week of 12/13 because the line switches to '22 during that same week. Imagine the mess they'll be in if they're still building 21's in January. That 12/20 build is the only thing that gives me some hope because they really don't have a lot of room to f this up again and that would be a really big one.
i just got a followup email, from 11/8 to 11/15 lol. So now my Defender is 11/12 (ordered originally in July, first scheduled as a 10/1 build), and my Bronco is 11/15 (reserved 07/20, ordered in January, switched to soft top in july, originally scheduled for 9/1).

At this point i’m resigned to not getting either until the depths of winter at the earliest. Maybe never lol

My sales guy has gone silent. Why the hell don't they just create a customer portal in Vista2? Last I heard it's pushed to December 3 delivery.

Dealer still doesn't have a build date for my car... But delivery is scheduled for January. Hoping to get an update soon, but not holding my breath.

Mine was finally built 12 days ago...then "dispatched" as the last status...still waiting to see if it is on a boat so 8 can get the vessel tracking; or just sitting in a parking lot for 2 weeks collecting rust by the water.

It seems so inefficient not to have a portal for customers.

I assume you're getting these updates from your dealer?

So annoying! What on earth could be the reason they do not have a customer portal to track your order??

I have a built date of 9/28 and "On a ship" status of 10/27. Considering my delivery date is 12/10 and I am over in Seattle, the only Wallaneus ship that could make it to Tacoma within time is the Tijuca. Maybe some of you with similar build dates are on the same boat.

same here. Need to call my dealer to ask and he says he‘s checking every day. Well I belive him JLR has about 120k cars in backlog for this model year due to chip shortage and around 25% are Defenders of some kind.
had a friend checking who knows the GM of JLR Imports here and he said in normal times the whole process from order to hand over would take between 3-4 month (Continemtal Europe). But now I guess it‘s around 9-10 month. Normally the car would get slotted in for a build about 6-8 weeks after order and than another 4 weeks to build and deliver to dealership and 2-4 weeks to get ready to handover to customer.
my car July 7th order did not yet get slotted in for a build and honestly I don‘t expect a build date before February 2022.
i just hope the car will get build with all my features and lives up to it‘s hype
