I was saying the same thing six months ago. Especially when considering you are provided a date to amend your build. My sales rep took several days to get back to me on a change I wanted to make and in that time frame the time to amend got pushed forward and we could not make the change.

Frankly I feel I could have just ordered the vehicle online without a dealer but that is a different issue.

The only answer to this question I can think of that makes sense is that software is expensive and JLR just doesnt want/cant afford to invest in a customer portal system.

My order was submitted 9/13/21 - for those of us in that allocation pool, does anybody know when they were slated to be built? Last I heard from my guy was January delivery (that was as-of 9/13, haven't heard anything since).

You're really not going to like hearing that online ordering exists.

In the UK.

Totally, looks cool and I wish I could have ordered like that, but that's a sales/ordering system, so it's software that directly drives revenue. A portal for customers to track their orders, that's post-sales support which depending on how a company views customer service/client success often is considered a cost center. Idk, seems like a pretty basic thing for a auto manufacturer to provide these days, so there must be some (probably financial) reasoning driving not offering it.

It's a concierge service that you call for UK orders. You just talk to a person. It's deliberate. Somewhere between "old money tradition" and "we don't care about savages in countries".

Awesome! Now once it's built, see how long it takes to get on a ship. It has been 2 weeks already after mine was built and no new ship updates. Wonder where mine is...

Mine took 4 weeks to get on a ship after it was built. Build date was 9/27 and on a ship status was 10/28. Delivery to dealer for Seattle is scheduled for 12/10.

I'm glad to have a VIN, which I didn't have before.
