Plus the longer LR fails to meet demand for the Defender, the longer the ordering queue will get.
Totally agree, I was thinking the exact same thing. We want to replace our aging LR4 with another Defender or an X5. Not ordering an X5 until the better quality HK radio is available again. Once the HK is available again, we can get an X5 built in 2-3 weeks. Might as well place an order for a Defender in the meantime and see what happens.

Thanks Mcdooogs. That's a good point.

That seemed a bit wide in the estimated build/delivery.
I've never ordered a vehicle before, always purchased what was on the lot, so kind of excited to try it but I might just hold off till next year before pursuing a new build.
I’m being told that they can’t even put orders in since the line has been shutdown and they don’t have parts to produce what has already been ordered. I’m now looking to see what folks have coming in the next 3-4 months to see if there is something close enough to my build that I can grab.

I found the spot where the lights go out is the upper tail light. I tried all the other points and nothing, but when an LED light as small as 550 lumens is placed in close proximity to the upper tail lights, they go off. Also found you have to get very close for that to occur, but high beams from another vehicle can cause the same, albeit they were also LED high beams. I presume all North American Spec Defenders will eventually be recalled for this issue.

Does anyone else just reach the conclusion that some dealers are more conservative with build dates while others are just saying whatever they think you want to hear... but that none have even the slightest clue as to what really happens next?

Pretty much yeah. It seems likely that JLR itself doesn't know when it'll be able to resume Defender production.

My build was also scheduled for 7/16 - it's now scheduled for 10/29

I think I’m on delay #4 or #5 at this point, I’ve lost count. Latest delivery date of 9/10 has since been pushed back to 10/1 on my 110 P300. I originally had an order for a 21’ model back in January that was due in late April.

Spoke to my local dealer today about ordering a 110XS. They said they already had one arriving in November and that I could still customize it. They did not mention anything about the plant shut down. Is it possible that they don’t know? Are they just trying to get me to fork over 5k with no real idea of when it will arrive?

Took delivery today. X-Dynamic HSE. This thing is AWESOME. 11.4” screen is super fast and responsive.

a lot of disappointment on this thread recently with the delays, but the wait will be worth it!!
