Default Another turbo coolant leak question/advice post (p300)

Hi all. My low mileage (~17,000) 2022 P300 has had the common faint whiff of coolant since new. I’ve only had the low coolant light come on once over the years and have topped it off twice. Lately it seems like I’ve been smelling it more often/stronger than before so I decided to poke around.

Both aux coolers are clean and dry front and back, so those don’t seem to be the usual suspect. I then removed some of the underbody panels and snapped this pic from underneath of what looks like a damp coolant line connection to the bottom of the turbo. Also, one of the two black pipes that attach to the side of the turbo seems like it might be a little damp too.

What do you experts think? Could this super minor weep/seep be the culprit that I occasionally get a whiff of after a drive? And is it worth taking it in before my factory warranty expires at the end of the year?

Very well could be. The P400s are more notorious for the same thing - the O-ring that feeds the turbo go bad. I have yet to see this problem on the P300, though. I'll have to check mine, as I've always had a slight coolant smell, too. I would take it in to get it fixed under warranty. Use up as much as you can before it expires!

I've got an appointment scheduled in a couple of weeks (6/17) at LR Los Angeles and will keep you all posted.

Looks like P300s aren’t immune to the coolant pipe o-ring issues. Just got mine back from the dealership and they replaced both the inlet and outlet pipe o-rings (but not the pipes themselves like some others have done). I’ll keep an eye on it from here and hope for the best.

Thanks for the update - this is good to know, and something I will inspect on a regular basis!
