The wiring is for a cell booster (there are other messages in the forum about it). I disconnected the booster temporarily (no warning messages so far) to install my checkered tail light guards. I'm going to install the reversing lights when the weather dries out here in the PNW. I'll use a heat gun to remove the booster from the old cover and re-attach with two-way tape on the checkered, reconnect and then install the reverse lights.
Thanks for the tips.

Great insight, thanks. Do you know if it works in all vehicles? Or only if the right software is activated?

I don't actually. I have the same questions. Perhaps its part of the "Data Pack", which I didn't get. I haven't really haven't had a chance to dig into it.
As Powerfull team did not export to EU I had to find different solution for reversing lights. And I did (redneck way)! Just for couple of $ and an afternoon of very slow labour.
This solution is not suitable for all rims.

I'm about 1500 miles in on my Defender 110 and besides the OEM tires (Scorpions, replaced at about 500 miles with Cooper AT3's 275/55/20's) the backup lights have been the only other disappointing feature. We get a lot of dark rainy nights in the Pacific NW and the stock backup lights might as well not be there on some nights. I was searching for some hitchmount solutions and stumbled across this product linked below. It wasn't clear if it would work on the Defender though so I took a bit of a chance. As it turns out, since the harness is designed to go inline behind the existing 7pin trailer connector it wouldn't work as designed on the Defender, at least not that I could tell without taking off the bumper. I ended up just clipping off the LED plug portion of it and buying a 7pin trailer end connector for $10 and hooking the plug up to that which took all of 5min. A little dielectric grease on it and good to go. Total cost was about $110 plus some tax. Links and pics below, just another possible option for those that are looking!
Installed some KC HiLites C2 Backup light system on the bumper using my Switch-Pros switch panel and PowerfulUK's wire tap for the reverse signal. I am able to use them as reverse lights (switchable) and/or be able to turn them on/off whenever I want. I didn't want them hanging low because I hammer on my 110 off-road. I've had the rear bumper off already when I installed the rear tow loops...was a straight forward install...tucked all the wiring into the bumper cover for a clean install.
