I agree 8 months was a ridiculously long time. But I largely forgot about it. The crack was well behind the drivers seat so you didn’t really see or notice it much day to day. It was replaced under insurance eventually so all good. And it is as good as new now. No leaks, everything operates as it should. I am hoping it was just one of those unfortunate bad luck things that can happen. Fingers crossed it never happens again!
Ronan Defender,
Do please tell us about this "aftermarket panel made of carbon fiber" that you have found. If this is a much better way to go, give more details please. unless your comment is just a comment and not based in reality.
Curb-Optional,
How and why would a dealership replace the grass roof top with a metal one? They are completely different roof structures. Again are your comments based in reality?

Seriously read slowly you might do better.."would be a much better way to go".
Same thing just happened to my wife's sunroof in her 2024 130...without any sort of impact from above or any sort of rough road, a crack just appeared. It can't be felt on either the inside or the outside. We are taking it to the dealer next week.
Last week a huge sheet of snow and ice blew off the roof of a box truck in front of us. I saw it go straight up in the air and it was falling back to earth with perfect timing to land on top of us. We were in rather tight but moving traffic so swerving left or right wasn't an option. There was a loud bang and explosion of ice and snow chunks, some sliding down the windshield onto our hood. Thankfully the Thule ski roof box took the hit which likely saved the glass sunroof. I was surprised that the Thule roof box was fine with just some surface scratches. Without the roof box, we would be ordering a new glass roof as well.
