I had the dealer install OEM rails on my wife's '11 LR4. At a subsequent service visit they noticed a chip on the edge of the glass roof. I live in Ohio and have seen my share of cracks growing in a cold car while it heats up.

Long story short, dealer is warrantying the glass roof replacement; to be completed by a glass guy who comes through the dealer. I'll post how it goes. I am really concerned with future leaks.

 

May also want to look at glass coverage from your auto insurance company. Many a heated windscreen has been struck by a turkey flying up from the roadway. Good to hear that warranty eats this one.

 

New roof in - clean install. Dealer's glass guy took it to his shop rather than repairing at the dealer. Waiting for a winter to pass to confirm seal.
