Default Clock updating incorrectly

We took the Defender from the U.S. Eastern time zone and on into Indiana -- and spent 24 hours driving to and fro about the state -- and the clock went wild.

There were four hour swings in the time, which I could not contribute to anything correct happening within the clock software. The updates seemed random. No settings seemed amiss.

Once back into Kentucky and on East all was normal and correct.

Has anyone experienced this ? Thoughts?

I'm not sure whether it updates time based on GPS time and position data or simply uses the local cellular network time.

I suspect it was not cell tower time, as I was getting 4 hour swings in the wrong direction -- something wonkie in the software? I know Indiana has been strange about their daylight savings time, but that would not explain it I don't think?

Just wondering if anyone has the same problem there.

This whole vehicle as a computer thing ..... whew.

Indiana-time Twilight Zone:

"The US state of Indiana has two time zones: Central Time and Eastern Time. Daylight Saving Time (DST) has been used since 2006."."

DST Confusion Stopped in 2006

Before 2006, most of Indiana did not observe Daylight Saving Time. However, some counties decided to use DST, creating confusion about what time it was around spring and fall.

To avoid the confusion, Indiana passed a bill in 2005 ensuring that the entire state would use DST from April 2006, regardless of the time zone.".
