Default Defender Oil Change Intervals

I just bought a 110 X-Dynamic and prepaid the maintenance upfront based on a deal.

Can I use this plan for oil changes not on the standard maintenance plan? That is, can I take it in for an oil change at 10k miles when the first scheduled isn’t until 20k miles and be covered?

Also, what are people doing with tire rotations with the oil change intervals so spread out? Typically I would get the tires rotated when changing the oil every 5/7k miles.

Thanks

20k on an oil change is too long. I run and own a engine shop for aircraft engines and despite what the OEMs call for on those engines (@50hrs), we recommend and see that owners who do it at 30-35hrs have fewer problems and engines go past expected life (TBO) easily... So with cars and specifically my 2024 Defender 130, my standard for it is every 5k, tire rotation using spare in the mix every second / 10k. Then at 20k intervals while warranty is in place I will let the dealer do the oil change and general inspections.

I do my own oil changes and rather than do it the way the quick oil change places or even the dealers do it (by sucking the oil out from the top), I drop the skid plate and drain via the drain plug... easy to do, bit of splash, but with aluminum foil it is simple. I did have to modify by front skid plate as the punched hole in the plate does not provide room to pull the plug easily... make the change the first oil change and now it is a piece of cake.

my 2025 110 went for service at about 10k miles. the car says i can wait until 20k, but my local dealership suggested the 1 year service interval for it, so that's what i'm doing. oddly, they didn't suggest a tire rotation (of that 5th tire on the back)? they will also replace cabin filters.

I bought a service plan too with my MY 22 110 P300S.

I waited till 17,000 miles before my first oil change. Something I wouldn’t repeat again.

i ended up using my service oil changes when i wanted them. Roughly every 10,000 miles. And now I aim for every 6-7k miles that I pay individually for them.

im at 70,000 miles now on my rig.

but yes. Even if dealership recommends when to use them. You can tell them when to do it and they’ll deduct from your pre-paid service.

Ive done the same with the three year old RR that I bought eleven months ago. It will have covered near enough 10,000 miles in the first year but the first scheduled prepaid service is not until another year and another 10k miles. So I’m all prepared to do my own interim oil and filter service within the next few weeks. Since it will be on 60,000 miles, with another two years of warranty also left, I’ve recently changed the ZF auto fluid and with the next DIY service I shall change the transfer box and front and rear differential oils. I’ve already got it all in stock. If it wasn’t for the warranty that I purchased to last until the end of its sixth year, I wouldn’t have bothered with the service plan and done it all myself [as I will have done before Christmas].
My Defender, bought used at 18 months of age, has recently passed its second birthday. I am of a mind to purchase another three year warranty on this as well, as the cost of parts and labour for even relatively minor repairs is frightening these days. Maybe I’ll just put the equivalent warranty monthly cost aside in a savings account, just in case, instead. I’m sure that nine times out of ten, the latter option would be a clear winner considering the amount of commission and costs they must skim off the price of the warranty.

5-6k miles. I have relaxed a bit from the 40 year habit of every 3k miles.
