Default Disabling Pivi animations?

If there's one thing that really irks me in the Defender, it's the smooth animations that the digital screens are trying to show me, poorly, while delaying my actions and preventing my muscle memory from working as I'm trying to navigate through menus with buttons or dials. Is there any way to disable them?

Not exactly sure what you’re on about?

Easiest way to explain would be with examples:
  • Windows: "disable unnecessary animations" (Win + U, Visual Effects, toggle off "Animation effects")
  • Android: something like that as well, but I'm not sure which variants support it. I know it exists and some Pixel phones, and on some Samsung phones.
  • Reverse example: iOS "Spaces" workspace manager, there's no way to disable the animation when changing from one workspace to another, and it takes about 0.25 seconds and breaks my flow to the point that I simply don't use that feature at all (though on Linux, my workspace is a 6x6 virtual desktop grid which I can't live without).
With these animations turned off, the transition from one dialog (or workspace) to the other is instantaneous. With them on, there's a delay as they reveal themselves in a cinematic manner. On L663 infotainment screen, there are delays.

There are two possible explanations:
  1. The hardware is limited, and they can't do it faster. I find this hard to believe, given the state of today's hardware and the fluidity of software I can witness when it is synthetizing the "glass cockpit" or the 3D view.
  2. There was an "artistic" decision to make it like this. I hope it can be disabled.

Back to the original question, is there a switch to turn these animations off, or am I stuck with them?

I had to look it up to see what you're on about - I understand now. Basically instantaneous menu changes. Unfortunately there is no way you can disable any of the animations.

Exactly my issue, also. That .25 seconds really messes with my mental flow. If JLR could bring it down to a few nanoseconds, I could live with that. I’ll be reaching out to Corporate to see if they can make some progress on that.
