Hi All, wondering if anyone has any experience of Defender refusing to start after been used in low traction mode? Parked up and returned to vehicle and when I went to start there was a half crank of the engine and then nothing! I’ve tried disconnecting the battery to reset and that hasn’t worked. For information, car is parked facing in to a slight incline. The lights all appear bright, so I think the battery has power - I’ve also had my booster hooked up, but nothing. The dash is illuminated as below, but the engine will not turn over. Any advice/suggestions greatly appreciated.
I think the engine not starting is unrelated to low range. Low range is in the transmission, which shouldn’t prevent it from starting. So, what else could be preventing it? Can you hear the fuel pump?
Recheck all connections from battery to starter, they must be corrosion free look and see and tight.
poor battery connection or low battery often causes issues like a half start.
starters draw a lot more amps than lights, all connections must be in top order.
also issue sounds electrical, like a bad neutral safety switch…
