@GavinC & @nashvegas - Finally getting around to doing this. Will try it out next time I get into the Defender. What's your "long term opinion" of the Parking Assist? Worth the tinkering? Novel but not useful? Fun for a while or something you epically use all the time? Quirks would be interesting as well. Thanks in advance!
Watched the video of Park Assist, and while it seems like a novel idea, it was also apparent that there were no other vehicles in the vicinity of where the Defender parked. A previous poster mentioned having it on other owned vehicles but experienced bumping other cars or ‘curbing’ his wheels. So, if you ‘bump’ someone’s vehicle and they witness it, do you explain it “wasn’t your fault, it was the car’s Park Assist?” Sorry, don’t see it as ‘life-changing must have’. People have died as a result of Tesla’s ‘Fully Self-driving mode. Not yet ready for prime time. Parallel parking was required to get a license when I grew up. I don’t think I would be comfortable having my steering wheel spinning in front of me, and the vehicle applying throttle and brakes without my input.

I wouldn't be too concerned. I've used this feature in numerous vehicles over the years. After all, this isn't new tech by any means. The JDM 2nd gen Prius was the first car to offer this system, and the first worldwide application was in the 4th generation Lexus LS in 2006. Ford has offered this for well over a decade, as well as BMW, Audi, Mercedes, GM and Chrysler just to name a few. But you do raise a good point - is it your fault or the car's fault? Or the programmer who wrote the code's fault?

Well I suppose I thought it best to test an unknown feature when no other cars were in the vicinity. Poor choice by me it would seem. Next time I'll try to get some more explosive action in the video. Maybe test it beside some stacked boxes of dynamite or an assemblage of babies in cribs. Be sure to smash that like and subscribe button etc.
Sorry you don't see it as life changing. Sarcasm is a helluva drug. My bad.
In another video I have used the feature in my own drive to park next to my own car. No problems whatsoever. As I said it works just fine. Just not really a solution to any problem. I don't think it's going to diminish the amazing quality of newly licensed drivers anytime soon. If you're not comfortable using it or have no desire to do so, the beauty of the system is that you don't have to use it.
Sort of like a bottled fart. Not going to bother you unless to elect to act.
Buck stops with the driver if things start to smell.
@GavinC Wasn’t out to hurt your feelings. Merely to state my opinion that I wouldn’t trust a feature that isn’t 100%, no fun bumping someone’s bumper or scraping my wheels on a curb, I like my wheels scratch free. And I’m quite glad you didn’t attempt this next to an assemblage of babies in cribs, but I do see your affliction with sarcasm. Although I haven’t seen the amazing quality of newly licensed drivers in my area recently, I envy where you live. Just lots of scary people driving in torrential rains with near-zero visibility without the aid or safety of headlights and taillights. Or driving under the assumption that the use of directionals is strictly forbidden by law. I’m jealous.

No worries Chuck. Fragile as my ego is, I think I'll be able to recover from these emotional slings and arrows. My Youtube cinematography and directorial input is not winning awards any time soon.
Perhaps my terrible humor is better enjoyed over a beer or better yet with a set of robust ear mufflers to drown out my nonsense.
In the interim I have used a colored font to better relay my stupidity.
Tried it today on my 2020 w the new G4, using what Gavin posted up above.
Not working yet but I get the icon in the app screen - but not on right of Pivi screen yet.
Reset Pivi 2x, locked car and making dinner.
Only error I received was “start/stop switch fault detected” which did go away after faults cleared.
Showed up in Apps list When I press the button in the apps list, I just see this.
Hello, my friend! Have you resolved the auto park issue you were facing? I have the same problem, with only the "P" symbol appearing on the screen .
if yes how did you do it please .
