My dealer (Farmington Hills, MI) confirmed that they charge MSRP + tax / title / licensing with no dealer markup. We'll see when it gets delivered if they actually hold to it or not. I assume they will at least try to get me to tack some stuff on when it's time to actually get the vehicle though we'll see how hard they push it.
Oddly they haven't even charged the $1000 deposit to my card yet, but they have shared the build sheet which does show 'Order Confirmed'.
My sales guy did say that the Explorer Pack installation is not an additional charge, so I may ask them to not install it so I can do it myself (I like that kind of stuff) but at least I won't have to pay.
The 'no out of state sales' sounds like very suspicious bull**** though and I would avoid that dealer out of principle. I've never heard of something like that from any dealer - seems more like the dealers who say its company policy they don't provide email quotes or things like that.

Not even out of state sale, it's out local market and it's been that way since summer 2021.

Anyone here received a 2023 X-Dynamic SE with digital dash and 11.4” screen?
getting mine soon and I don’t know what to expect. Could very possibly not take delivery of it if it’s missing standard options.
I just took delivery of mine, X-Dynamic SE. From what I understand, you have to order the "extended leather pack" to get the larger screen. I didn't say anything but privately I was a little miffed because had I known that beforehand, I may have swung for that if I'd known it would get me the larger screen.
I don't think anyone is getting Clearsight mirrors right now. I think a few X and V8 orders have been arriving without the mirror. I could be wrong, but the Clearsight for me is/was a bit weird when I test drove a model with it. I didn't care too much about that.

That's interesting because the website as of today shows the following: Digital dash and 11.4" touchscreen.
Seems JLR found time to update the MSRP but not the time to be transparent with customers on what they're really paying for. That just seems bad to me.
From what I know, and its truly very little. The larger screen and digital dash although showing available will not be shipping on new defenders. Air suspension either.
Only the X will be shipping and built with air and larger infotainment. I suspect some builds will still end up with it, but may be random.
I only know this from my relationship with the GM of my store. LR has prioritzed the RR for production right now, and the crossover parts, chips, airbags, etc have been allocated to those builds. Defenders and other models will be built in the best option they can.
And that is the reason why I was seriously motivated to grab a Defender the day I heard about them!! I hadn't been paying attention to JLR in like a decade+ and out of the blue last February ('21), I heard about them in production again. Yeah, I don't pay attention to a lot of automotive jazz. So the first thing I remembered were the Defenders in the '90s and how short the run was for US consumers. Especially the 110's! So, I thought to myself - with all the COVID chaos, this show isn't going to last long. I really, seriously wanted a long production run of many vehicles. I wanted lots of opportunities for 3rd party aftermarket suppliers and a healthy OEM. Still happy with my Defender (still in love), but I think I may have been right (it's rare for me to be right with a guess, so I really HAVE to share). I thought something would F up the joy and guess what...
EDIT: Anyone have a list of the Defender production numbers? I recall seeing one for 2021 and wonder if there's an update for 1Q'22. It was VERY lump towards end of each quarter, but I figured that was normal sales teams pencil whipping forecasts & deliveries. They ALWAYS close everything out at the end of month/end of quarter.
This is the exact reason I bought mine. The used car market gave me a lot of equity for my 4runner. And I was lucky enough that my LR dealer had an inbound order being built. In the exact spec I wanted. So I bought it, at MSRP too. It was a perfect timing thing. And reading this thread makes me truly grateful. I feel really bad for everyone whos been waiting on orders for months, getting items dropped, and then paying over msrp. Its wild. Thankful I have a good relationship with my dealer (past RR owner)
