In the US, there really isn't a way other than to ask your dealer to tell you when it gets loaded on a ship and then you can track the ship (various web sites).

Once it reaches port, you'll be back to talking with your dealer again to find out when it's due to get trucked to them.

Heard from my dealer! My truck is on the Wallenius Car Carrier “Thermopylae”. It left Southampton on 05/28 and is due into New York on 06/08. (Build was completed on 05/06 with delivery by the end of June)

There was a report on the (Australian) news tonight about wait times for new cars. The Defender was singled out as now at least 12 months between order and delivery.

I’m 4 months into my order and don’t have a build date yet…fingers crossed for an early Christmas present!

Ordered in Jan here in Aus and still don’t have a build slot…was originally given an estimated delivery of late Dec, so hopefully that is still accurate.

Where did you order from? I was originally given a November estimate after a mid-Feb order.

ACT. 110 P400 X. Not sure why I have a longer estimate—maybe because ACT only has the one dealer and they have a few people waiting for allocations?

Yep, maybe. I’ve learned through this forum that it seems to matter which dealership you go through as to the number of orders/allocations they have.

Ordered in June 2021 through Northern Beaches Landrover in NSW. D300 SE with upgraded interior pack and a few other things. If I had been willing to accept it de-specced (meaning analogue gauges and small centre screen) it would have been delivered in June 2022.

I didn't want a de-specced one as I thought it would affect the residual and it would have been annoying to look at every day

As it stands, I still don't have a build date. No issue with the dealer, it's just the way it is.

A friend in the UK has told me recently that the power train factory in Birmingham is back to full production, so they clearly see the ability to ship powertrains out to the factory in Slovakia without bottle necks.

Hopefully this means they get up to full production of finished vehicles but given the growing waiting lists it will be at least 12 months from new order today imo.

I don't like your chances of getting a build date this year if you won't accept the interior changes for SE, I ordered the same vehicle in November last year and won't recieve it until October (WA based). The ONLY way I could get back digital dash and 11.4 inch screen was to upgrade to HSE spec which is a big jump $$ wise but not value. There is no current option to upgrade SE to bigger screen and dash. My car will be a 23.5 MY (originally 23). JLR made this call due to the lack of semi-conductors (apparently) and it sucks, especially as they want the same money for less.
