Difficult to say for sure, depends on model and dealer. Ordered 130's seem to be 3-4 months after acceptance. 110's are longer, some were waiting 9+ months. Some dealers have quite a bit of backlog so your request sits in a folder, those are likely the 12 month wait time orders. This, of course, is not scientific just my observation from reading the forum.

"Knock on wood.." here hoping there's no material issues as we put some run-in miles on it before heading from CO to OH early~mid October. The new Kimberley Kamper (Karavan) trailer will be prepped and ready for its maiden voyage home to Colorado. Gonna get some kicks on Rte 66 on the way east toward Ohio and stop and smell the roses on the route westward home.

Exciting news!! What's your spec?

Did you guys experience the same thing?
I’ll say this is new for most manufacturers these days, so it isn’t surprising. Ford is now requiring it on all new orders. Some others are working towards it as well. You’d think it is to see your level of commitment, but that’s only half the story. It’s also a passive way of monitoring dealerships that had been placing orders for fake customers to try and pad their allocations. Fun world we live in.

That noted- it depends on the dealership. Mine just kinda let me decide what I wanted to do.

This is a massive difference for me from my various FJ Cruisers (2006 model and 2014 TTUE to present day). I"m not sure my mind, nor back side, can handle all the luxury and niceties due to arrive but I'm prepared to make the sacrifice and give it a go!

In general:
  • 110X P400, 11.4" touchscreen (we'll see, haven't been told otherwise), panoramic roof
    • really wanted that 6 cylinder extra oomph for towing here in Colorado's altitude on and off-road
    • front+rear differential locks, etc
  • Pangea Green, black roof, premium LED headlights, factory satin protection film
    • I have a wrap on my second FJ (front only) and it has made a huge difference in addressing colorado pin striping & rock chips
  • 19" off-road tires (that's a whole separate discussion)
  • 5 seater (plan to use that last row seating/cargo space for my existing ARB fridge, extra battery, etc)
  • center console is the armrest - did not opt for the mini fridge as we have the ARB - and no centre seat as it's just two of us 90% of the time
  • tow package w/advanced tow assist, etc
  • cold climate pack (incl. heated steering, heated windshield, etc).
    • Mostly for the wife's desire for heated steering but I have family in the Great White North (Edmonton, Alberta) and I confess I love the heated steering in the Macan on those cold days.
  • load space storage rails, air compressor, roof rack, ladder, raised air intake, lunch box, etc
  • leather heated + cooled front seats, heated rear seats (trying to keep up with all the stuff on wife's Macan LOL)
Basically way more than I'm accustomed to and, as my family & friends will attest to, more than I deserve LOL I'll have to be careful where I scratch lest it be caught on all the camera and towing tech in the rig!

After delivery, need to square away rock rails, hi-lift jack mount, traction board mounts, etc, but that the easy part. Once the beastie is parked in my garage I KNOW it's HERE and there is a whole year to square away those ****ly bits.

It'll be serious change from the FJ and motorcycles, but it'll be great! We wanted a tow vehicle for the off-road trailer (reference Kimberley previously) so we can enjoy our early retirements. Also wanted a 4 seater so my wife can swap out the 5 door Macan back to a two door 'sportier' Porsche as she had previously (is there such a thing as a 'more sporty' Porsche? sadly YE$) One door closes - another door opens - we'll embrace the adventure that is Land Rover and see where it takes us!

Did anyone ever place two orders in two different dealerships at the same time? Is there any risk of doing this?

I placed an order last month but it's yet to get an allocation. I’m thinking of buying my dad a defender as a gift but my previous dealership starts charging ADMs. I was able to find another dealer in my area that accepts orders at the sticker price. I'm wondering if I place another order under my name in a different dealer, will I somehow be caught by JLR and get both orders canceled?

Yes, that does describe it. I, myself, didn’t want air suspension. I had that exact build set to order.

I don't think JLR could care less. I eagerly await the day dealers are a forgotten hindrance relegated to the waste bin of history.
*steps off soap box*
Order as many as you want, you cheeky bugger. JLR build to their customer, the dealer.

I sense a small bit or sarcasm - but I do thank you. It was exactly my setup and happened to be there at the exact time I called.

I owe you a burger if you are ever in FW.
