How about we steer clear of personal insults, yeah? It’s kind of childish. Listen, air suspension in access height is absolutely not a stand-in for the most articulation these trucks are capable of. And besides, much of the rubbing occurred in off-road height when reversing cranked-wheel on a steep hill, performing a U-turn to head back down.
I admit the idea of them running modded trucks for adverts is wild (although not unprecedented), and you can say what you want… But the things I have seen the 110’s on OEM 20s do, and what I have done in my own 110 with aftermarket 18’s (Lucky8 Tuffant alloys), is simply not going to happen in my 90 on OEM 18s. The clearance just isn’t there.
Maybe it’s a difference with the body, maybe the OEM 18’s vs 20’s. But we ran 265/65s, 265/70s, and 275/65s from several different makers (all off-road tires, ATs, MTs and RTs,) and we got at least a tiny amount of rub, very often more, with each. On the street. And again, one of these tires was basically identical to stock in OD, and just .5” wider.
If you take issue with what we discovered, why don’t you get your own tires, run your own tests?

I have a bit of trouble following this thread, but I am attempting to find an LT e type rated hybrid tire that I can run without a lift on my P300 18" D110 with stock 18" wheels.
The one which seems most likely to work is a Niitro Ridge Grappler in size LT265/65 R18 -- 31.77 " dia 10.71" width stock # 21 7470. Is this possibly one of those you tested? If so, what was the specific result?
Has anyone else tried a LT265/65 R18 Niitro Ridge Grappler?

When it's down to mm's of clearance and new tires, make sure to find he manufactures
Listed size.. I noticed several different tiredcmakers with "same size" tires, were really not at standard. Some of the off road tires were up to .5 bigger in total diameter than another same use different brand. So, just make sure there is a total diameter given. Check the "tread depth " too. As that varies as well. ( honestly, $68 for a Lucky 8 1" lift is unhead of. I'm going to try that route to start for off road tires)

Did this interior wheel wall mod. work or nah?
I noticed there is some room inside the wheel well which is somewhat "loosely" attached. I don't want to rip into yet....so what'd you do or not do? Thanks for posting one way or the other.
This might boil down to individual tires from manufacturers will fit, while others of the same size from a different company will not fit.
Anyway, thank you for the picture and sorry to hear you abandoned the swap. I totally understand. Its starting to look like the only way to run anything larger than a 32" tire, is to get a lift or mod the inner wheel liner. I'm going to take a look at that today and see if it is easily modified by a heat gun or if the liner has to be removed. If it has to be removed, then I would assume the prudent thing to do is to have some type of spray on protection/sound insulation added.

So... I see most of the discussion is around 18" fitments, from which I am excluded unless and until I retrofit the L8 brakes.
So just wondering what the prevailing wisdom is regarding 20s? I'd love to go 275/60-20 in the Nitto Ridge Grappler RT. Best case scenario that would work on-road with the minimal articulation required and I could fit a 1 or 1.5 lift for offroad. But there seems to be some ambivalence with respect to whether the 275s fit.
Also, if I could get 33" height without the 275 width that would be even better, but I don't think anybody makes a 265/65-20 or a 255/65-20.
I just want to try some decent tires in 20" and see if they're sufficient for my off-roading needs at present, to save changing brakes, wheels and tires.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I’m fine with wheel spacers if needed; would prefer those to permanently having the lift if that would get sufficient clearance for the 275/60.

Yes, I too am stuck with the 20's. I did buy a set of 1" Lucky 8 lifts to try and use with 265 60 R20 Toyo Open country AT's, (I'm a Toyo for life-er) and aftermarket 20" wheels (+25-+38 range). I'm kinda miffed that LR didn't leave any room for "personalizing" these vehicles. I bought my D90 Bec I do spend a lot of time off road and stupidly I did not notice that my model can't accept an 18" tire. Info from LR read "18-20" tires"....And the changing of brakes with a Disco....? Why only some models? They all weigh about the same P300-P400? Mine doesn't even have a trailer hitch which might solicit larger brake calipers. I'll stop whining here.
