Permanently disabling auto start/stop
No idea but still running fine. Interesting that it is connected to the BMS, likely as it needs to know the status of the battery and if no status then it errors on the side of caution. Just a complete guess but after 2 years we have had no codes or issues on the sport or defender
Not really a cheap shot, just being realistic. And yes, I’ve been in Rome several times but would never even attempt to drive there, as they are in their own class when it comes to craziness. Have you ever driven in Florida? It appears there is a State law forbidding you to use a signal at any time, for any purpose. Heck, even the County Sheriff’s Deputies and Florida Highway Patrol rarely use them. Yesterday saw a guy make a U-turn on I-95, with traffic doing 80+ mph around him by slowing to a crawl in the left lane, then driving across the grassy median, where it is usually a mud bog after the rains we’ve just had. Miracle he didn’t get stuck. Unfortunately. Not to mention the Jeep driver that drove onto the sidewalk and passed 20 cars on the right because he didn’t want to wait for the light. Until you drive here, “you ain’t seen nuttin”.

do you have a picture pretty please???? I would love this feature!
To disable the start stop function there is a small black connector attached to the negative terminal of the battery. Unplug this and leave hanging. Start stop will not turn on.
I have done this on my 2020 Defender and 2020 Range Rover Sport and so far after a year no issues. The dealer does once in a while reconnect when I take it in for service though

So the one about dead center of that photo on the far side of the negative battery terminal?
Follow up question - and you've not notice it effect any other functions or features?!?

and no I have not noticed anything else amiss with the truck. No lights, warnings ... etc. Same as on the Range Rover Sport. The only thing that you notice is that when the truck tries to go in to AutoStop mode you see the A with a cross through it on the dash indicating it has not been able to activate.
