Well, you have to pre empt the limp nudge before it happens because once it's happened it's too late.

The lane assist is definitely off because there are many time I’ve crossed the double yellow or white shoulder lines to go by people waiting to turn.

UPATE: So I guess you can’t turn it off permanently because I just tried 😃. Interesting how none of them have never engaged🤷🏻‍♂️
I wonder what the difference is in year or package or what we're doing but the lane assist defaults off on our 2020 P400SE.

same on my 2022 P300, I turned it off in the settings and it stays off. same with the emergency braking assist, that has kicked in a few times when it shouldn't have and scared the crap out of me.

Maybe I’m not loosing my mind. The reason why I wrote you couldn’t turn it off is only because of the screen toggles which seem to default to “On” after each engine start. Until reading this thread, I assumed they just remained off because I haven’t messed with those setting since I first setup the truck. I basically forgot about it till now.

Definitely a head scratcher 🤷🏻‍♂️ but I’m glad they haven’t kicked-in yet🤞🏻

Wow, this thread is painful. Two and a half years and eighteen pages of posts and nobody has a solid solution to this annoying "feature" for the 2020 Defender?

Maybe I missed it up above, but it looks like there is a pretty easy fix with the GAP IID tool (video below). Now I just need to find a friend or shop in SoCal with the GAP tool to shut it off. I have no desire to disable my battery monitoring system, because sometime I go a long time without driving the vehicle and the low battery messages are important.

Yes you are correct

The feature can be disabled using the GAP tool.

I may be mistaken but I think this only works on the P300 not the P400. I had the CCF config changed on my P300 and no longer have to be bothered turning it off.

I am relatively sure the vid above was in a P400...

Just to throw this out there, I own a 2020 P400 and I own a GapTool and I know my way around the car with it. However, mine will *not* disable the auto start/stop with the method used by Lucky8 above, even playing around with the start/stop button setting before writing the CCF as they do in the video above.. It's not operator error... the car won't take the coding. A few others have posted this as well.

(which, by the way I'm fine with because I don't actually want to disable it... I like the functionality of sitting in eerie silence at the stoplight...)

Me too. I have a 2020 P400X and no go no matter how I try to do it. I have finally gave up. I also tried the walk away locking and unlocking even though everyone says it only works with the 2023 onwards. Anyone know what is missing too make it work.
