Default Start/Stop “not restarting” resolution coming soon

Had my 2020 P400 at the dealer for a visit this morning — the svc manager confirmed a fix is coming soon for the issue whereby the Defender doesn’t automatically restart. He was *very familiar* w the issue and said he has multiple LR’s on the list for it.

Interestingly he said he had heard it might be OTA update (ie remote) but it was more likely a dealer visit to reprogram the “powertrain module”. He said it was supposed to be ready 2 weeks ago and is hopeful it will be April update.

So... good news.

I truly have no idea if mine works because, as somebody said in another thread on this, the system has never been tasked with restarting. If I don't remember to kill it at startup, I hit the button the instant it reminds me of its existence by turning off my engine at a traffic light.

Same for me. It becomes ingrained. Would I rather be able to disable it for all restarts? Yes, definitely. But I can live with the minor inconvenience for all the pluses and smiles it delivers.

I’ve never had a Porsche with AS/S because I’ve had a GT Division car since AS/S came into being, my last Carrera being a 2015 which didn’t have it. But There is a cat sells a little module that clips between the console button assembly and its wire loom, no cutting, that Saves Last Setting for all the buttons. Easy single-panel pop off on the side of the console for access. I actually have one for my current car because I want to save Sport button setting and the exhaust loudness setting, both of which stupidly reset to off with restart. It works perfectly and cost $200. I’d be all over that if somebody did it for LR. But access would be a bitch.

I noticed that Mark in Cali (who works for a company that does many feature-enabling SW hacks on our trucks) had a thread about enabling last-button save but I’m not driving to the west coast for it.

He had a post about traveling for a group. If memory serves, it was a minimum of 10 @ $10k. I'd be in for that. Florida, Georgia, whatever. We could split the distance and do it in scenic Valdosta. Any other lower East-coast people in for this?
