So $500 to temporarily store your sunglasses - I am guessing people that know you would not be surprised!

Well, for $115k I wanted the sunglass holder that came on my previous Defender... Plus, if this works, it will be a good option for people looking for parts from a junk yard...

I also bought the cigarette lighter outlets for the rear seats that are missing from my new Defender:

2x cig lighters and outlet covers

old car had these...

We have a 2022 and a 2023. I noticed the blanks in the 2023 where the cigarette lighter outlets are in our 2022. I popped one of the blanks off, hoping to install outlets like you’ve done. But I didn’t see any kind of connector/harness to connect them with power. Have you found a connector for the cigarette lighter outlets you purchased?

Good news... The sunglass holder works! My shop just called to let me know that it all plugged right in and works... I won't see the car until next weekend unfortunately.

Popped off the blanks... No wiring. Dammit. My shop is going to add some DC outlets there. Will update when there's more.

@Trauma - I totally respect @sna77 's decision. I have done things that others would think are far more spend stupid. But me, I'd just get one of these! Or one of the numerous others I've seen. I use the eyeglass holder on ALL my other cars and think this is another chicken-poop thing that JLR is doing for no other reason that being cheap with an expensive vehicle. I just LOVE when folks do things to overcome JLR's misses. It just depresses me that there isn't a cohesive effort to fix the logistic side of the train wreck going on. Personally, I'd slow down the marketing machine of new products until they nail the existing lines.

Thanks GrouseK9... The PowerfulUK guys tear their cars apart all the time and they don't get any flak lol. As I mentioned... Now that we know it works--easy to call a junk yard and get an overhead console for cheap if you want a sunglass holder... Or, for immediate gratification, order one new from LR lol

DEFINITELY post pics when you upgrade that to some DC outlets. That is definitely something I can / will see myself doing. When I evacuated my house do to wildfires, I had to use my old Chevy to work because IT had outlets for my laptop. My high dollar princess was useless.

Will do... Worst case, I'll have my shop hardwire a pair of something like this:
Amazon Amazon

Best case, they figure out how to hardwire the OEM outlets.... Either way, I want two back there.
