Tracking Defender issues

Follow up to #114 above- Brake failure.
I found this cable hanging loosely from the right-rear brake.
Reattached it- it just seems to be snap-fit and the cable is stretched very tight (precarious design), and I’m not sure I attached it correctly.
Anyone know what this cable is for? (Brake pad wear sensor?). It’s only on the right-rear.
In any case, it didn’t fix any of the brake warning lights (or any of the 14 functions that don’t work) so off to the dealer tomorrow.

Presumably, given the grinding on your Disco5 calipers, your wheels fit tighter than a fish's back end. No wiggle room between weights and this wire. Worth taking a look at.
I needed to redo the internal weights on the rear (with the pad sensor) and place a little reparative duct-tape to offset the installation job from my tire people.

Running 18"s on the P400 your internal wheel weights can be precariously close (damagingly close perhaps) to the pad-wear-sensor wire if positioned carelessly.

But yea, definitely a tight fit to the inner wheel barrel.

Another follow-up (hopefully last time) to the failed braking system.
Dealer replaced the Master Cylinder / ABS Modulator and associated parts - around $4 grand in parts (covered under warranty).
But this was just a guess by UK engineers. Total down-time was 5 weeks. That’s getting into Lemon-Law territory.

@dj200 Just curious, did the LR dealership give you any grief for the grinded calipers and 1.5" rod lift (with respect to warranty coverage)?
Side note: the service rep said working with JLR engineers is very difficult and it can take days before they respond to inquiries. So the vehicle just sits on the service lot waiting. Just as frustrating for the dealer as it is for the customer.
