I have tried to update to 4.1.0 at least five times now and every time it fails due to "insufficient battery charge." I hooked it up to a trickle charger over the weekend and it still failed. I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer so they can force the update.

My Disco5 finally updated after this same problem; it took driving on the highway for a trip that was about 2 hours to do it.

Speaking of v4.1, did this break navigation in the HUD? the turn arrows are now missing for the HERE nav. Was this intentional?

I'm going to the LRE owner's day at the Biltmore in a couple weeks. If I can't get a service appointment before then, hopefully the 5 1/2-hour drive will give the battery enough juice.

that should be more than enough.

it's unfortunate that JLR doesn't simply give an indication that the 12v battery needs to be charged more to a certain level at the time it gives the software update notice. it would save people a lot of grief.

I had the same issue but was able to get the update by keeping the charger plugged in for two+ days.
The first day the update downloaded but did not install with “low battery” message (even though the charger said “fully charged”).
The second day the update installed successfully.
It’s similar to how you would update software on a laptop computer - keep it plugged in during the entire update process.

Yeah, mine stays separate (pivi map on IDD, Apple Maps on CarPlay on the main screen) until I actively navigate. Then it transfers whichever map I’m using on the main screen for an active nav (CarPlay or pivi) to the IDD

I could be wrong of course but I think it use to stay on PIVI on the IDD?

I really like having full screen map with satellite view, it just looks cool to me.
