Default V8, ok then - Milltek Exhaust - Gap3 Solution - Must be!

Well I drove a V8 Defender with a non-resonated Milltek Sport Exhaust yesterday and man was it loud, almost too loud! But the real problem was drone between 1000 and 1500RPM. The drone is so bad that you can hear lots of things in the rear buzzing through vibration etc, so not for me. I got offered it for free as the current owner was keen to get back to factory ie swap for my OEM. So that tells you a few things.

Anyway, so got to thinking about my gap3 tool. I have seen, and posted, in the section where thru the GAP3 tool people have been able to program the exhaust valves to stay open in the Dynamic setting. I cannot help but think there must be away to get the exhaust valves to remain open 100% of the time no matter what car setting you are in. Surely there is some out there clever enough to work this out? What about the GAP3 makers, have you got any ideas?

Waiting in anticipation.

Love my V8 Defender!! Just a bit louder please.

Yes, thanks. But can we be smarter than that?

We got this great GAP tool, surely there is an answer there.

You can enable configurable dynamic mode, and basically turn all the dynamic mode functions off except for the exhaust.
I have my exhaust valves programmed to stay open in dynamic mode, and have my suspension and steering set to comfort.

Yesterday I shut off all the dynamic features except the exhaust, seems to drive pretty much the same as when in normal mode, only more exhaust sounds.

Where this would not work would be if in any of the off-road modes or eco mode.
But I am normally in dynamic or normal/comfort mode. I think I am now satisfied with the use of these now enabled features.

I can actually feel a huge difference at higher speeds.
