V8 Roll Call
they were asking for 20k over but i bought my other defender from them as well as several other cars. guess i was first on the list to be called.
funny cause you get excited to get the call to pay over sticker.
the exclusivity is part of the allure

Nice purchase Ehloo! Too bad paying over sticker but you gotta pay to play.
My P400 Defender is still in transit... but looked at a V8 which was in for service when at the dealer. The sales guy grabbed the key and we started it up and had a closer look. Carp Grey, blue brakes, and boy did it sound good!
The sales guy told me that the V8 Defenders have a thinner roof material to reduce weight for handling and speed - which doesn't seen Defender-like to me... 🤷🏼♂️
I am new to LR but liking the brand, just put a deposit on a 2022 Range Rover for my wife! She didn't want to wait for a 2023 either. 🙂 And we can negotiate a better deal overall.

Ok, so we are to understand that the weight gain of the V8 drivetrain was partially offset by no roof rack, no roof rails and no allowance for a roof load ... so they went ahead and thinned out the roof also ... for better handling and drivability? Or maybe the design feature trade-off change happened in the opposite direction?
How could they thin the roof and use the same chassis and overhead glass structure? Are we thinking the V8 chassis is unique .... really? Or maybe it is just the roof panel insert that is thinner?
Will the 130 allow carrying a roof load (this point is important for my LR4 replacement plan !) ?
I am not sure the salesperson's statement as written here is correct.

the v8 does not come with roof rails. a cheap piece of plastic replaces like the very base Defender options.
hearing mixed reasons why they don’t but for the common explanation is aerodynamics.
i am hope the roof is made of any thinner materials. literally picked up a set of roof rails from my dealer today.
wont be putting a roof top tent but maybe a rack or atleast cross bars and ski rack.
i’ll let keep everyone in the loop during the install
