The Carpathian edition also has a black hood and rear door, so it's like an X to some degree.

First I am aware of this on either. My X is solid black throughout though so maybe that’s why I don’t have two colors? I always thought the two tones were ordered that way. The configuration builds does not show two tone when you build. Think that was a change for 23?

Here is mine on the east coast of Canada, now featuring the front runner slimline II roof rack:

And a side shot after taking it off-road to a friend's cottage after hurricane Fiona. Note the Starlink modem on the roof, being powered by the outlet in the trunk:

Starlink on top of the front runner slimline II roof rack.

The only issue with the rack is the wind noise. I am going to buy the front runner rubber gaskets to fill all the open slots, and I am in the hunt for a wind deflector as the stock unit isn't great. In speaking with a front-runner service agent, they recommended this particular model of deflector, but also had this to say about it:

The roof of the new Defender is quite flat, There is a good chance that the curve of the wind fairing will not meet with the roof fully and this will increase the amount of wind noise on the roof rack. This one may work but we have never tested it so unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that it will fit perfectly.

Hello... Long time lurker and decided to join, long time owner of Land Rovers, I've have everything from the RRS SE to Autobiography.
I'm thinking about ordering the Defender 90 V8 Carpathian Edition, checks a lot of boxes for me and I don't need a 4 door SUV, I could get another RRS but I don't the updated rear of it.
Curious to know if anyone has one? I know its limited on options but any worth selecting? and I won't ask about the value since we can all agree it nuts, but I like the style and its something different.

I've got a 90. Has about 7k miles on it. Love it so far. Options are limited as you said. If I could order again I'd get full leather vs the dynamica suede. It wasn't an option for 22.

I was thinking of changing it up from leather to the suede, why would you change it?

Eh, I just think it tends to be a little more maintenance. For example if you're wet or coming back from the gym. I know it's synthetic but just seems like long term won't be as durable.

It’s not real suede, it’s alcantara. It’s manufactured suede that’s an economical substitute for leather for the industry to make but it gets matted down unevenly (like suede) with use. Over time it looks messy and dirty, especially if you’re going to use the car. Why would you want manufactured suede over real leather where a sweaty backside is going to sit after leaving the gym or after a hike? It’s used in expensive sports cars and steering wheels for better driving grip and because it’s in those cars, the public have fallen for it as luxurious. It serves little purpose for an SUV, especially an off road SUV. It’s more maintenance than leather and frankly looks like a downgrade after 12 months. If I could swap out the V8 steering wheel for leather instead of alcantara, I would in a heartbeat. I expect there will be options to swap in a later model year. As it is, you have to wear driving gloves to keep it in top shape unless your hands are perfectly clean and dry at all times.

Personally, I hate alcantara..l optioned my v8 110 with black leather...except there is no leather steering wheel option with paddle shifters.... Having mine rewrapped...
