Cold start is nothing compared to a BMW (full M). But very satisfying. The on throttle sounds is fantastic and dynamic mode w/ sport is excellent. You won’t be disappointed. A really fun multiple personality vehicle. And the V8 makes it feel light and nimble. You will love it - only comment is the exhaust at idle could be louder depending on your preferences. You will know you’re driving a v8 no doubt.

i was a bit underwhelmed with the exhaust note. Also coming from BMW M’s and other high performance cars i expected a louder cold start.

i did change the exhaust out to a miltek resonated system. the resonator gives the system a nice increase in volume and civilized tone. The non resonated is much more raw and aggressive. Miltek systems are modular and i did buy the non-resonated pipes if i wanted to try something else. But i have heard the non resonated drones

good call on the Miltek. I want one for sure, i like civil but when you have a v8 the audible sensory experience is part of the fun. They seem hard to get in the us ?

Thanks guys! I likely won’t change from stock as the plan would be to trade in 10-11 months if things continue as they have with resale. This is Defender No3 for me in 13-14 months. I had an X5M (sounds amazing), and X3M Comp (sounds amazing) and a X5M50 (sounds like dog poop).

YW was like my 4th choice but the more pictures I find online the more I like it. Still would have preferred CG color but I just can’t stomach the order and wait game. Instant gratification kind of guy and even the next 14 days will be brutal.

but the trade off is drone. haven’t heard it for myself and really close to wasting some money to install my non resonated pipes. it will be prob a good 2-3 weeks before i pull them off. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a civil note but you will know you have an exhaust. Just not a raw SVR sound. i get minor cracks and burbles. it’s being muted by the resonator

miltek has dealers in US.

i actually have a almost complete v8 miltek system laying around. If you are interested PM me.

pay for shipping and packing and it’s yours.

Agreed… Sound is as much of the driving experience as anything. With Bimmers the handling seals the deal but they come with their own negatives like $2500 worth of tires every 6 months.

I had an X5M as well LOL - i will likely go back once the facelift is available for order. That is one hell of a vehicle. The defender 110 v8 is solid too.

My rides end up looking like this too much. X5M is an amazing vehicle but doesn’t fit my need to hunt whitetails.

Good point - as much fun as they are, the defenders balance of ruggedness and performance is nice. I also like not stressing about hitting a pothole.
