I have a 2020 defender 110X and it has the I6 engine mild hybrid. this 5.0V8 is from the previous range rover engines which have been trouble free too.

We have been blessed with some warm weather down here in the south. The sun roof open, windows down kind of weather. My gosh the V8 sounds so good! I have owned multiple turbo cars but this is my first vehicle with a super charged V8. Really liking the Defender V8. Not sure how I could step down. The V8 doesn’t make it fast but it adds so much to the driving experience.

Finally was able to pick up my defender yesterday. Got a ‘22 Carpathian Edition. Been using it today and it’s awesome. And I was surprised to see it with all 4 break pads color blue.

Sold our 22' Defender X Carpathian grey, which we really loved. And go this 23' V8 CE at sticker on Dec 1st 22'. Really surprised how much I love the matte look, didn't think I would. I do miss the black/ tan interior we had in our X and preferred the 20" wheels and off-road tires we had on that. Haven't done any mods other than tint and PPF on the black bits that weren't done by CE factory. We have the windsor leather black and it's fine, I prefer that to the suede interior.
I don't know if I will change exhaust sound, I keep going back and forth on that. I also want to get some good snow tires, that I can keep on year round, so something more AT that has good snow performance. So undecided on that. And whether to get tires for the 22's wheels or switch to the 20' wheels to have more selection of wheels. I have a 18' Raptor that has a huge list of mods and I still have it after 5 years and cant imagine selling it. I am starting to feel that way about this. It is such a unique driving feel.
Right now I have the Raptor in Park City house, but think I would want this there during winter and Raptor back in San Diego. Then in summer switch them back out, since our home in Park City has so many great off roading trails that is much more fun in the raptor.

BTW my Raptor has been modded for more power as well and feels quite a bit faster than the V8 Defender. No one seems to talk about modifying the ECU of this rig, not sure I would be willing to risk it anyway.

Congrats on a sweet ride! You can chip the defender for around an 80HP gain for around $600.
