What is this rattle? Rear Suspension Dampener? Will my rig be okay for another 1K Mi?
did you say your rattle is back? How long did it stop before if started back up? Mine is currently at the dealer and just received a text that they think its fixed. fingers crossed when i pick it up in the morning that it has been. i will keep everyone posted.
Interesting that it was replaced 2x and persists. I would say, from having done it myself (the repair), something is amiss or not adding up. Replacing the shock with a good one / new one fixes the issue (I did it myself). The shock is super easy to diagnose and all you have to do is drive it around with the interior trim off. Noise is right there (see my video in another post). There’s no mystery in the diagnosis in other words.
So. Either they are not replacing the shock itself (the mount replacement does absolutely nothing)
Or they’ve incorrectly diagnosed.
If they replace the shock (which comes as an assembly with the new upper mount, pre-torqued in to proper spec) -- it would fix the issue. Maybe you have another loose component they just are missing and blaming the shock (again though, easy to pinpoint the shock as cause).
I’m with you all. My right rear is rattling for the last 500 miles and I’m annoyed I have to replace that one. boo,
