With the issues that our older engines have, what would be the best year engine to find to rebuild? Reading this article-
http://robisonservice.blogspot.com/2...your-land.html
-it seems that some years have more issues. I'd like to bump up to 4.6 when I do this.

a P38 block would be your best bet as most of those were 'red grade'. There are also rover blocks that are 'red grade' but they aren't as common

Alright, ordered the Magnaflow Catalytic Converter schtuff. Mine suddenly started rattling a couple days ago and now it sounds like I'm driving with b@rbed wire wrapped around my driveshaft.
Wondering why can't type the word b@rbed, it keeps replacing it with ******.

Installed the catalytic converters, sounds great, seems to run stronger and idle smoother too.

Changed oil and added BG RF-7 Oil Treatment. Wow, that typical lifter ticking sound in the engine is gone. Will be using this from now on. Looking forward to seeing what it does over time.

The spare wouldn't fit on the mount so I made some mods and got it on there. Raised the mount 7/8" which was about as far as I could go and have enough material around the newly drilled holes. Next on the list... roof rack.
Selling a home and buying a home so my dreams of having this dude all finished up have been slowed.
