Any progress on the build? I know it’s been pretty damn hot.

Downright brutal heat in my neck of the woods. When it gets cold up there though come on down I'll let you enjoy the warm winter and fix my 110's leaks lol

Did accomplish something yesterday. My wife went to work with me and we installed the insulation barrier. Went pretty smooth and got the majority done before the heat cranked up.

Undecided about covering around windows, since l will probably have some sort of entire cover for glass anyway. So, may just have large rectangular pieces to cover entire window and surround.

Left crossmembers exposed to mount accessories.

Cleaned up the entire look.

Quieted it up quite a bit. Purchased rubber stall mats today, that will be cut to fit in isle way and footwells. I know wood flooring would look better, but l want something that can get wet...without serious damage and can be removed if need be. The rest will be wood , over wheel wells and sleeping platform or veneer over the steel cabinets pictured earlier. The roof will have wood veneer inserts, between crossmembers, held in place by a center panel (attached to rib) and shelving will hold up outer edge.

Felt somewhat rewarding to get "something" done. We will see how the rubber cutting goes...it's already 92F...so things don't look so hot (for working).

Added rubber floor mat.

Will add some fasteners to some of the rubber mats.

Had a good tail wind going into work this morning, looked down and l was going 70 mph (in a 55 zone, sorry mr officer that did see it happen...lol)...anyhow, coming home was a different story...so l parked the old girl in the shade as a reward for just making enough steam to get me home without breaking out the slow moving vehicle sign.

This shape caught the wind nicely this morning...

This shape fought the wind valiantly on the way home...

It was a hell of a battle...but we prevailed...lol. Mind you...usually smoke one cigar on the way home...today...two.

But whatever the outcome...she's still a good old girl and was never meant for the open road anyway.

Have 5 of these on the way, 285/75, Atturo Blade A/T.

Going a bit less aggressive this time around...since the build is going in the overland direction...and l'm ready for bit of peace and quiet. No complaints about the Federals, definitely got my monies worth out of them and would buy them again in a heartbeat. Roughly about 45K on them and they're not completely wornout...probably another 7K left.

Anyhow...

Still waiting for my monster order from the UK. They have everything, except for the mesh window guards. They were hoping by the end of the month or mid Sept. I'm a patient guy and it's not like there's nothing else to do...lol.

Those tires look the same as the Canadian tire AT3 tires I put on the p38 last fall. They seem to be great tires. Good in the snow, very quiet and nice on the street but still have some grip for the dirt

Yeah, pretty similar. I'm quite sure they will be enough for me, off road. Since l will be traveling by myself...doing stupid maneuvers in remote areas...is off the table. I'll have my winch and high lift...for moments that that happens unintentionally...lol.

Tires showed up Sunday, so on they went Monday (pretty impressive, ordered them Friday morning). They filled the wheel wells a bit more and quieted down the beast substantially. You really don't realize how rough mudder tires make a vehicle ride, with the steady vibration of the large lugs hitting the pavement, and kind of just get use to them. Anyhow, she drives like a whole different animal now, and l believe the odometer is closer to being correct. The larger diameter actually made 1st and 2nd gears more manageable. 1st was almost a waste before, l'd be shifting into 2nd after a few yards...plus...gained about 4/5 miles an hour in 4th and 5th gear, at cruising speed.

Before...

After...

So, l'm cruising market place Sunday and run across a RRT...so...we all know how that ended.

Sexy booty...

Like the way the tires fill the fender flares a bit better.

Need to work on mounting brackets for the tent...and decide which way it will deploy.
