And, the oil stains on the floor...aren't from Victoria...lol.

Waiting for axle seals and C/V joints and cleaning up parts tomorrow. Have swivel ball seals, so l'll get them on tomorrow. No rush for the other axle related repairs, plenty of other projects to tackle. Been working on my lift spacers, going up another inch, just need a bit more hand filing...to whip them into shape. I've been rearranging the battery compartment, so it will hold two 1100CCA batteries. Scavenged a couple nice heavy battery cables that will run directly from the battery, ground and positive, to winch and power terminal under the hood for adding accessories.

Yeah, this project was long overdue. Should have paid more attention to the swivel joints and grease level...and l 'probably wouldn't have had a C/V explode. Left side was completely dry, needs bearings and pivot assembly...but the ball looks salvageable...small...dime size pitting...along an area that just touches swivel on full lock...so l'm going to expoxy area, sand and hope for best...l'm pretty sure it will be fine. Still waiting for parts from one supplier, damn, l've received stuff from England faster. Not going to mention any names, yet...but l'm somewhat disappointed with this and lack of emails confirming shipping and tracking number.

Was going to install lift spacers this weekend...but forgot them at work...gosh darn it! Oh well, plenty of other things to do.

Nice 110. It is very similar to mine. You are going through the exact same things I did the first year I had mine. Good work.

 

Finally finish wiring winch.




Started messing around with rear door panel. Want to go old school, wood floor, cabinet and rear door panel. This is rough stage, will come off, be sanded and stained...eventually.




Fitted a piece of aluminum behind the wood, to stiffen up the whole mess. The plastic cover will be put in place, over lower slide mechanism, when done. Using the rear wiper motor switch/or/defroster element power for rear lights on rack.

Had a issue with the 110, while driving to my parents house. Made a strange metallic rattle noise when l first left, pushed clutch in...and it went away. Hmmmm? Not good. Please don't tell me the trans is going, please nooooo. Continued on anyway and the noise went away. Sweet. But returned, when leaving my folks house. This time it was much more pronounced and lasted longer...but once l got into fifth...gone. While under the 110 wiring the winch, l'd been admiring the lack of leaking fluids. No dripping, besides one small fuel leak from the pump. But now, l was thinking about the old rover adage...if it ain't leaking, it's empty. So, pulled in the garage and removed plug on trans. Added about a quarter pint...hmmmm? Ended up draining the trans anyway, looking for debris. Nothing, clean as a whislte. Refilled. Checked transfer, full...hmmmm? Time for another test drive, same rattle as before...but this time a slight moan/squeal was detected...hmmmm? Back in the garage we go. Open hood and reach down to the alternator...which is hanging by one bolt on the adjustment bracket...hmmmm? Houston, l think we found the problem. The two bottom pivot bolts had fallen out, replaced them...and we were all good again. Damn l love this thing...how many vehicles will run down the road with it's alternator hanging by a bolt and the belt...lol.

Granted, l was happy that l'd finally wired the winch...in case it did die...and needed to be winched on the car trailer. But, old Victoria said screw that...and got me home.

Forgot...did a huge job today at lunch time. Loosened the window crank handle and adjusted it so it doesn't rub my calf, when it's down a bit to draw cigar smoke out. Sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest improvements...lol.

 

Them little things matter. My steering was getting stiff, I had put a newer used pump on a bit ago. Lol. Foolish me. Just needed some wd40 sprayed on the universal joint above the steering box. Like driving anew truck
