Removed 2" lift spacers and installed Terra Firma 2" lift coil springs and shocks. Original springs were dead and were sagging, bottoming out on rough roads. This lift increases height by an 1 1/2 roughly...that's how dead the origainl springs were.
Didn't have a chance to drive it...yet. Took about 2 and a half hours to install, mind you...everything had been a part a year ago.
Not going to lie...it did cross my mind to leave the 2" spacers in there with the new springs...lol.
But, that would have just opened up a whole new can of worms, as far as steering, drive train and brake lines. Plus, then the wallet would need to open up for some even larger tires. Which, when these (265's) are worn-out, 285's are next.
Not a whole lot happening lately. Did change steering stabilizer. Still waiting for my tie-rod bar and drag link from Rovers North. Basically, just been enjoying the fruits of my labors. Brian.
Hey Brian, your under-bits look like most of the ones that aren't from the south or west. I've been using this stuff that seems to be working very nicely for rust protection: https://www.berkebileoil.com/pfc.html
I used about 2-3 cans to cover most of the underbody including as much as I could get inside the boxed frame. It's been holding up well so I probably won't need as much to recoat before winter. I had some bad rust spots that pretty much have stopped progressing since application. As you probably know, there's several similar options that'll do the same, and I figured, like the rest of us, you may need another project to keep you occupied.
Homemade diff cover(s)? Looks like there is a clamp not right at the top — interesting.
More deets!
No, these you can purchase. I'm going to tack-weld this one on...someday. Lost the rear one in Ohio. It's a pain when you are the last rover in the pack, stuff falls off...and no one's around to pick it up...lol.

Thank you Bill.
May get after the rust on this rover soon. Kind of been hesitant, since it's the jobs like this that are usually the kiss of death for my rigs. Once I start caring about them....they treat me bad...lol. Need to get it up on the hoist and steam clean her up and plate the frame in the rear, also.
