Well it was beautiful out today for December, so I played around with that rear bumper I started building in the summer. Finally some free time. I have to extend the wings for sure. Contemplating side/corner steps for roof rack access. Was thinking of tieing them to the mud flap/ inner fender plates with a rubber bushing of some sort. Worrying about flex. Anyone care to chime in if it would be an issue?

We’ll work has been crazy, I haven’t touched the rear bumper, I only have a few weeks before the snoblind trip so I put in a used steering pump. Wow. I should have done that long ago lol. I had my buddies who did my exhaust re-tap the O2 sensor bungs, installed all new sensors. No check engine lights but seem to of lost some mid range torque. I’ve only put on maybe 20 miles. Not sure how long the computer takes to learn new exhaust. Mmmm

Yep, when you order O2's...you may as well order the tap too. Only one l've had any success with, removing and installing, was my old 01, spun out and in...all the rest battled me, removing and installing.

Did you ever get the lift spacers in?

Brian.

Yeah, winter stinks. Just pulled the rack off the 110 Friday, got it in garage and found issue with front axle...just C/V joint...hurray! Ordered two, ones blown apart and other is sloppy. But, while it's inside, l'll tackle the duel battery swap, hook up winch (have all extra length cables for the job now) and install 1" lift spacers (which l have to modify at work Monday), and tackled a few other odds and ends. Bought new exterior door handles and tumblers, might get them on too. Would be nice to be able to lock it up, once in awhile. Debating if l should tackle the head gasket while its in there, not leaking or anything...just want to get it changed in advance of any issues.

Yeah door locks would be nice. My p38 has never been locked, I’m scared too, I’ve heard so many p38 horror stories of being locked out or even locked in. I was locked once when I first got it. Lol never again.

I stopped by trailhead 4x4 today, Eric seems very decent. I think his LS swaps are the way to go. Lot of rigs in his lot. Had some pretty awesome yotas inside too. I’m dreaming of my p38 with a 5.3 now lol

Just got back from a wheeling trip in west branch Michigan, I’m happy to say my truck performed perfectly. Knock on wood. I did lots of recovery, tugging and winching, a couple of angled ****** block pulls to get guys back on hard pack, great fun breaking trail and flying up hills😊.
I’m still waiting for my motor to be finished, feeling skeptical about the shop
as it’s been way longer than originally promised, like almost 2 months longer.
