On the good news front I found a shorty water pump in the classifieds on the mustang forum for a great deal. It arrived today and looking at it I think it will be answer to my prayers for clearance on the radiator. Thanks Tony!!

This weekend if the column doesn't show up I'm going to figure out the cooling system and get it done. Complete with the electric fan and all the pullies in place.

After that I will be moving the gas tank and trimming the rear valance for clearance on the dual exhaust set up. The tank needs to move 2 inches to the driver side. So I will need to redrill the mount holes, easy part. Cut a section out of the trunk floor flip it and weld it back in, hard part for the filler neck. Then cut a mirror image half circle in the valance on the passenger side. Oh and see what I have to do with fuel lines. Sounds easy right lol....

Ok time for the saturday update.

Started out this morning looking at the new water pump and the one on the motor the difference didn't look that great but It was there and I was there so on it went.

Netted me about a 1.5-2 inch reduction in length. So that is great news. Went to install the pullies and found out my beautiful polished billet aluminium Ford Motorsport pulley set won't work because the water pump shaft is now to short for the pulle FML!!! So some quick research says I should have ordered the hot rod set. So I look for that and find it is discontinued...... So the oh **** feeling starts to set in, than I found a set from CVF racing also billet aluminium and listed as the set to use with this pump. So that is now on the way. It was actually cheaper than the ford set so it's a win win I guess.

Then I moved on to the radiator and the fan. No issues there quick easy and in. Mapped out the hoses should be no issues there I ordered the ones I think will work from Advance Auto they should be here tomorrow.

Happy with that I moved on to relocating the gas tank. Well the first three bolts I undid from underneath were a breeze couldn't be easier. The next 5 however were captive nuts and spinning freely. So I had to fire up the grinder and grind the heads off the bolts. That is a bit of a pucker factor since I'm showering sparks all over the gas tank filler, vent etc.... Sort of said a quick prayer that the 44 year old brit parts weren't leaking fumes lol.....

All of that done and I couldn't figure out why the damn tank was hung up and wouldn't drop down till I found two more bolts that were free wheeling in their captive nuts. So back to grinding. Well I got that done and the tank came right out.

I did a quick clean up of the tank and sprayed it down with rust converter. Surprisingly it was just surface rust on the top of the tank all in all in very nice shape for it's age. Tomorrow I'll get a couple coats of paint on the tank. I marked out the spots for the new holes tonight and marked the rear valance for the exhaust hole cut out.

That is the end of today, oh and in case you didn't figure it out the new column did not make it in time.

Although the ebay vendor was mad that I gave him negative feedback for sending me a column he took parts off that it showed it including and that was in a unusable condition due to the mangled threads on the shaft. Sent me a nasty email than had contacted ebay to request I reconsider and change it to positive. After all he did refund my money.....

Wow did not realize column was off eBay, f the seller if he sells on there a lot he should know better, if he did not refund eBay/PayPal would have

You sell on eBay you have to disclose everything on a used item

That was my thoughts as well Tom. The guy had good feed back just screwed the pooch on this one apparently.

Got the gas tank cleaned painted floor drilled and valance cut today. Then headed home for a much needed break lol.

Another good news is my very nice looking CVF Racing billet aluminium pulley kit showed up that works with the short shaft water pump. Pretty excited about that. I have a big work weekend ahead.

Here is a link to the pulley kit on Amazon for those that might need a set up in the future.
