Discovery old door doesn't go with my new truck style-square .So I checked with Isuzu Trooper door , and it is square and simple.



Even gas cap fits I like that.



So Discovery gas door out Isuzu in.

 

When this thing is done you will have a Disco Troop.

 

Does the person with the trooper know you have their door?

That's kinda' ballsy - broad daylight and pictures?

Yes it is my Trooper ,, but here is rest of the story.In order to install gas door I had to install body panel.





Here I traced shape of the gas door on to the back of the body panel.



...opening is cut and support part is installed ...



...view from the back...



...look from the inside...



...downspout is installed ...



...connection with the gas tank ...I reuse all Discovery parts...



...look from inside ...I still have to fabricate protecting cover to protect gas spout and its components...



...and finally I installed gas door , even colors are matching...



...if you wander why I did all this work , look colors are not matching ,...just kidding , old door wasn't square enough , that's why...

 

Nice job, It's going to feel huge driving it.

I love that you tore it down so far but you still have the console in it.

I went to a Car Cruise at the local VFW recently. There was a EL Camino that was built into a Dragster. His inner rear fenders reminded me of yours, but his were a little wider with fat slicks on it.

 

Didn't do much this all week but manage to screw few more bolts and nuts.Installed upper body panel...

...ventilation door...



...position pick up the air...



...position release the air...
