Project Dirty White
Cam bearing replacement are a bit out of my skill level. I gotta stop somewhere. I see no reason to suspect they are bad. I've got great oil pressure. No visible excessive wear visible on the cam. I'm almost sure this engine has been rebuilt at some point.
I saw a 4.6 Crower on Summit's site for $275.
Is there a cheaper alternative that's better than stock?
I'm looking for a new cam right now.
I dunno if the 4.6 is different than my (alleged) 4.2 . But part number 50229 on Summit is listed at $144.
Looks like I was looking at solid lifters by mistake. Duh. The hydraulic lifters are part number 99284-16.

It has the applications all screwed up. It says 1971 -1980 Rover V8. Wonder if it's just screwed up web site info or if it's actually a different part.

Well Somebody better tell Mr Army Rover that since he's running the 50229. Lol. I wonder what the difference is.
Yep
I was excited for a minute too, though the cam was $100 less than I thought...then I saw it was for a Buick, lol.
And, less parts, but more money...awesome.
