Default Injector seals woes...HELP!

I am doing the injector washers and O rings job on my car but I am kind of stuck now.

The new washers are genuine LR part but they wouldn't go past the mid point on the injector nozzles. Am I doing anything wrong? I have cleaned the tip using fine sand paper and there's no carbon left on the tips but that's not helping. I tried forcing them a little but to no joy.

Don't want to damage any thing since nothing is available here.... got these from Dubai as well.

Do I place the washers in the head first then install injector and use the clamp to seat them in place by tightening the bolt? Is that the correct way? Would that damage anything?

Also, I washed the injectors with petrol... is that okay??

Please help?!

If you have just broken the plastic wrap around cover, then try a Dodge Sprinter glow plug cover from Dodge source or MB dealer.
About $5 a pop.

If the inside end terminal is compromised its a soldering job; again ends are available from MB source refer to2002 to 2006 TIN 903 Sprinter 2.7 5 cylinder diesel.

Amigo,
The washer must be seated on the injector, standard practice.

To seat it try some "GENTLE" pressure uisng a tube like tool, suggest a thin socket and go easy it should slide down onto the seat.

Make sure to seat in the injector tube is absolutely clean and NO carbon. I use rifle barrel cleaning brushed for that job. If the injector doesn't seat due to dirt on the seat it will aerate the fuel chamber/rail gallery and give you rough running or no start conditions.

Do not be tempted to force the injector down with the retention bolt.

Are you replacing the sealing O ring its recommended. Always use a lube to slide the injector into the tube. I use engine assembly grease but vaseline is a good substitute.

You can clean the MAF sensor with well MAF sensor cleaner--like this.

Now that harness!
Notorious for degrading I usually throw it away if its seriously deteriorated .
If you want to re-use it you will need to ohm it out checking each individual wire connection for continuity, no cross connections and no short downs and good socket retention . This can be a chore. Expect to see next to no resistance.
Hope that helps you.

Okay. I tapped the washers into place with a 8mm socket, it did leave a mark though but hopefully its all good!

Yes did replace the O rings too.

Thanks for the help Tuercas!
