Default 1997 DISCO hood (bonnet) lift assist

I did a search on this site and did not find anything. I want to install =13px =13pxHydraulic Hood Lift Supports so I would have to lift my heavy hood to check oil etc. Has anyone done this? What kind would you recommend? I called auto parts places and have not gotten answers. Thanks rover people.

Id be real concerned about bending the hood when closing it with this mod. The hood wasnt desiged to see that much force. I dont know if theres a crumple zone in the ribbing, but it would certainly fail there if its forward of a strut mount

I installed one 75lbs x 17" gas prop onto my Disco 2 hood with 2 90 degree angled 10mm stud brackets.
I might add the 2nd gas prop only because the one 75lbs gas prop works well but in gusting winds I would be leary of putting my head in there.
