Hi guys, just a quick update... So I took the truck in for the inspectin with the fuse in place, so there was no light illuminated on the dash. That part passed the inspection. I failed for a worn Steering Dampener and a worn tie rod end. Also, the inspector noticed that on the rear passenger side, that the brake pad had a brake sensor wire attached to it. They must have replaced the pads on only that corner at some point in time. While they work and it doesn't fail inspection for that, Im willing to bet a penny or two that that pad is the root of my problem. Anyhow, I ordered the dampener and the tie rod ends and last weekend I replaced them...

Which brings me to my next dilemma......

May as well use this post to do my update as well..... After re-setting the ABS light and clearing all faults ( mostly rh front air gap) i went round and tapped the sensors in further..... and the system works!... so far at least.
It was good enough for our MOT(inspection) test and is still working.
Been busy getting everything else ready for the test, fitted new exhaust, rear shocks, replaced rusty boot floor with Ali sheet and patched adjacent rusty holes , new drive belts and filters and a slight de-tweak of the fuel pump to get emmissions down ........ and hold my breath while it was in......

It passed with no problems , just a couple of advisary items for attention, rear anti roll bar bushes and track rod end .... at least i've got a year to sort them out.
Overall the old girl drives better now than she has for the last couple of years... fingers crossed she continues to do so!

Don't know if this is kosher or not but go to Land rover world.org forum page 38 and look at ABS modulator repair by Land Rover Club V.I. Looks scary at first but the post is fabulous.

This afternoon Im going to go out and try tapping the ABS sensors back down as mentioned in a few different threads across the net. Also, yesterday my brakes all but failed on me while out and about. I checked the brake fluid and it was well below the Minimum threshold line. I topper her off and limped home and will be bleeding it this afternoon as well. Ill Keep y'all updated.

The guy who runs that site is a moderator on here.
That rebuild kit is for a DII not a DI.
