1999 Land Rover Disco 1 strange spark behavior
Hi I have a 1999 Disco 1 and am having a strange issue. Once I get it started it runs great, but when I turn it off, it will n ot start again, it does crank and crank but no spark. If I disconnect the battery for 4 seconds and reconnect, it fires right up. Also if I replace the 60 Amp fuse Ignition Circuits, it fires right up. I am going to replace the crank sensor and see what that does. I have also reciently had the injectors overhauled and replaced all the plug wires with new ones. I also put a new fuel pump in, and am getting pressure out the schrader valve on the fuel line intake, it squirts pretty far. Could it have something to do with alarm/immobilizer? I did take the doors off as well and cut all the door wires, but this was happening even before I did that.
Thank you
Ryan
Thank you

That does sound like an alarm issue, or a computer issue. I know the alarm does monitor the door locks and if the doors are closed or open, so simply cutting the wires may have caused a problem in the computer. There are youtube videos on having to disconnect the battery to start the truck, mostly on newer ones, but I am pretty sure the computer had to be replaced (??)
I was looking and there was a procedure to use a piece of wire to "jump" across one of the plugins that go into the ECU under the passenger side dash. I have unfortunately not been able to find that link again as it was a few months ago. Anyone have the link handy?
Update more testing:
1. If I undo the battery for 3-5 mins, the vehicle will start no issues at all, almost on the first turn of the engine, if I turn the key so the car remains "on" but the motor stops, I can start it again no issues. But if I turn the key all the way off, it will not start or even spark.
Once it starts it runs like a top, no issues there.
Ok here is an update on what I have tried so far:
1. Replaced crankshaft sensor with a new one ------- still the same issues, that will not start unless I disconnect the battery for 5 mins.
2. Replaced the "AMR" security box with another one, the green one under the passenger side ------- still the same issues, that will not start unless I disconnect the battery for 5 mins.
3. Keeping "new" AMR I replaced the Engine Mangt Control Unit with another one ------- still the same issues, that will not start unless I disconnect the battery for 5 mins.
4. Tried jumping the immobilizer wires going into AMR ------- still the same issues, that will not start unless I disconnect the battery for 5 mins.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I am going bonkers here.......
Where is the Alarm module that I can replace?

I rechecked the fuse box after much testing and found a 15 amp fuse blown, it had a little book next to it, so I did not look at it before. Replaced it and boom the vehicle fired right up. Not sure what it’s for but the rover now runs again. Thank you all for your suggestions and help.
